A few days after fishing with Traverse City Bass Guide Service out of Traverse City, Gabe Sopocy connected with Capt. Andy Odette, another Sport Fish Michigan associated Captain out of Frankfort for an evening of salmon and steelhead fishing. They needed a bigger cooler for all of the salmon and this huge steelhead they caught!

3 Brothers
3 brothers, three nice king salmon! Visiting Traverse City from Chicago, the brothers went with their dad to fish with Captain Brian Springstead, part of the Sport Fish Michigan network of Charter Captains & Guides. Lots of fish were caught, and they even had to give away fillets to make room in their 2 coolers!
Beautiful Bass
Elaine Finucane from Tennessee, holding a beautiful bass from East Bay. The weather was gloomy out near Traverse City, but the fishing was good. We caught a lot of fish, despite the rain and cool temps.
Thunderstick
Manistee River Salmon Guide Service customer, Lance Swank, holding a beat of a king salmon that he got casting a thunderstick. I think that he became addicted to that ferocious bite of a river king on a crankbait, because that’s all he wanted to do his next 2 trips!
“Kiss Me You Fool!”
Simms Fishing Products rep and good friend, Tony Ferrie greeting a nice Manistee River smallmouth caught on fly with Wolfe Outfitters. Although we couldn’t raise any giants, we had a great day, sharing a boat, laughs, stories and some frosty-type beverages later.

A Boy & His Fish
Wolfe Outfitters guide, Matt Dunn holding a pike that customer, Austin caught while fishing the Pere Marquette River. To date, this was Austin’s largest fish.
On the next day, Austin and his dad, Gary, went out with Sport Fish Michigan Captain and friend, Capt. Brian Springstead out of Traverse City. Happily, that big king salmon in front of Austin was now his largest fish ever. Two days in a row, he caught his largest fish. Way to go! Austin is definitely hooked!!!
