On the next day, Austin and his dad, Gary, went out with Sport Fish Michigan Captain and friend, Capt. Brian Springstead out of Traverse City. Happily, that big king salmon in front of Austin was now his largest fish ever. Two days in a row, he caught his largest fish. Way to go! Austin is definitely hooked!!!
Fiona Thistle, visiting from Wisconsin is busy reeling in her very first king salmon while fishing with Captain Andy Odette, out of the port of Frankfort. Capt. Andy is a big part of the Sport Fish Michigan network of the best Charter Captains & Guides in Michigan.

This gentleman came all the way from California, to fish with Traverse City Bass for 4 full days. Glen is completely blind, and was still able to manage to fish very effectively and efficiently. There were lots of laughs, lots of fun, and just as importantly, lots of fish. Captain Ben Wolfe was able to get Glen out on both West and East Grand Traverse Bays for each day of fishing.
A bent fly rod for Curt Rodgers, from Columbus, Ohio, is a good fly rod! Curt managed to catch a lot of fish in the 2 days that he fished with Traverse City Bass, keeping the rods bent more often than not!

One of the highest compliments that I feel that I can receive as a fishing guide is a customer booking a return trip. Sure, there are many things that I truly appreciate, as the owner of Traverse City Bass Guide Service, including customer reviews that I can post to my web site, customer referrals, gratuities, etc. but to me, the ultimate is the opportunity to fish with a customer on a repeat basis. This means that hopefully, I showed that particular customer a good enough time that they want to come out again. Given the nature of the business, and that we are located in Traverse City, it isn’t always easy to arrange fishing trips from as far as some of my repeat customers are from. And given the huge choice of so many wonderful travel destinations, the fact that the customer chose to come back not only to Traverse City, but to also fish with me again is just plain awesome! I’ve had customers from California, Oklahoma, quite a few from Texas and Florida, Canada… and the list goes on. I’ve even had a customer from Guam. That was a fun trip. Continue reading
